So being a living, breathing male I asked her out. Before answering “yes” or “no” she asked me if I lived on a particular island in Puget Sound. "No, I don't," I answered. "Well," she said, "I only want to meet men from there." Now, I've been turned down many times before, but never because I didn't live on an island. "That's where my home is," she went on to explain, "and that's where I want to stay."

I thought to myself, “Maybe I'd like it there too, and under the right circumstances, might move there,” but this lady wasn't even willing to give me a shot.

Which brings me to my point. I don't know how good Cupid's aim is, but I'm going to give him a big target -- maybe even lots of targets.

When we say our date must be a certain height, age, or be within 5 miles, I always think what happens if Mr. or Ms. Right lives 5½ miles away -- "Oh well.... I'll just keep looking?" No, I don't think so. Give Cupid a break, he's just not that good a shot!

Have you ever wished you could get ten first dates out of the way without spending ten entire evenings? The event begins with women sitting at their individual tables waiting for their dates. Guys enter the room and sit based on their assigned table number across from the waiting woman.  The real action starts at the sound of the bell. The room comes alive, with every couple finding out as much as possible in 4-6 minutes. The bell sounds and the men shift over one table, and on it goes until every man has met every woman. Then two days after the event find out who your matches are!
